Frequently Asked Questions

What is UAC?

The UNSW ASEAN Conference is an annual meeting of ideas, culture, and people, connecting ASEAN and the world under one global forum. Since its conception in 2019, UAC has always aimed to strengthen the ASEAN identity by joining the socio-cultural, political, and economic interests of Southeast Asia under one roof. Our Conference is made up of Panel Discussions, Keynote Speakers and Addresses, as well as online networking sessions and opportunities for the audience to engage in the creation and discussion of ideas.

Who is UAC for?

For everyone! The UNSW ASEAN Conference is for anyone with an interest in Southeast Asia or any of our topics to hear from professionals and meet international participants. We have followings from a diverse range of ages, backgrounds, and nationalities. Normally, we have a strong attendance from students and working professionals alike, but as a student-led initiative we especially aim to engage ASEAN-Australia youth in our transnational and transdisciplinary exchange of knowledge.

Will UAC be held in-person this year?

In 2021, given surges in Sydney Covid cases, we will again host our conference fully online, capitalising on our extensive international network to bring people together from Australia, ASEAN, and the global community.
