About the Mentoring Session
UAC Mentoring Session aims to provide a forum for experienced professionals across five industries - Consulting, Financial services & Accounting, STEM, Marketing, PR & Advertising and current students/graduates to discuss matters relating to career paths and have a chance for networking. The aim of this program is to equip and empower our participants with professional skills, confidence and meaningful industry connections as they navigate university and their careers.
Vision
Giving students the opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics involving industrial knowledge, experience and practical skills for career development
Mission
We intend to place students into a group of 1 mentor to 3~5 students. The group will be rotated every 30 minutes for an estimated 3 rotations in total.

Opening Remarks
Neil Morris
Neil Morris is the Director Student Life and Communities at UNSW Sydney. Neil has had a long career within UNSW Sydney holding several positions including: Vice-President Campus Life and Community Engagement (March 2011 - April 2017) during which period he was Also Chair of UNSW Global; Executive Director University Services (Feb 2009 – Feb 2011); and Director Human Resources (Jan 2004 - Dec 2009).
His current portfolio encompasses a broad range of outside the classroom student engagement roles such as Sport; Health, Safety and Wellbeing; International Students; Residential Colleges; Equity, Diversity and Disabilities; and Student Support and Success. Neil has a strong engagement with students at UNSW including an active connection with the student organisation, clubs and societies, and UNSW’s place within its local community.

Tan Siow Ming
Siow Ming is the Chief Risk Officer for PwC Malaysia. He is also the Chief Strategic Risk & Network Officer for the PwC Malaysia-Vietnam (MYVN) firm. Prior to this, he was PwC MYVN’s Deals Leader. With 30 years of professional experience with PwC, including a stint in the New York office of PwC US, Siow Ming’s expertise includes M&A advisory, business due diligence, valuations, and corporate restructuring. He has advised both corporate and private equity clients in cross-border M&As in Asia, Europe, and the United States, covering various industries including telecoms, technology, fast-moving consumer goods, healthcare, plantations, energy, and industrial products.
Siow Ming is a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (Honours) graduate from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and a Chartered Accountant of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders in PwC and is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and experiences.
